Effective October 7, 2026
These terms cover your use of this website and the text messaging program run by Whelping.Org ("we", "us"). By using the site or signing up for our texts you agree to them.
The text messaging program
- Program name: Whelping.Org study texts.
- What we send: messages about taking part in the whelping video study: questions about when your next litter is expected, how to share videos from before or during whelping, and follow-ups about videos you have shared. We do not send advertising.
- How you join: by entering your mobile number on the application form and ticking the box agreeing to receive texts. The box is never ticked for you. Agreeing is not a condition of applying, of taking part in the study, or of anything else.
- Message frequency: message frequency varies.
- Cost: message and data rates may apply. We do not charge for the texts; your mobile carrier may, depending on your plan.
- To stop: reply STOP to any text. You will get one message confirming that you are unsubscribed, and no more texts after that. To join again, email [email protected].
- For help: reply HELP to any text, or email [email protected].
- Carriers: mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
- Your number: you confirm that the mobile number you give us is yours. If you change or give up the number, reply STOP first or tell us, so the next person with it does not get your texts.
- Privacy: how we handle your number and other information is set out in our Privacy Policy. We do not sell or share mobile numbers.
Taking part in the study
The study is by invitation. Dog programs that have not been invited can apply; applying does not commit you to anything, and we cannot offer a place to everyone who applies.
Taking part is voluntary. Sharing videos does not transfer their ownership: your videos stay yours, and we use them for the research described on this site. We may credit your program by name if we use your videos and you agree. We aim to publish our findings, but publication is not guaranteed.
Whelping.Org was started by a University of California, Irvine graduate. It is an independent project and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by UC Irvine.
